The Society for Poole Hands Over £100 to the Dorset Blind AssociationThe Society for Poole held their Christmas event this week which was attended by 100 members and their guests. The party itself raised £100 for charity and during the event Mike Pearce, Chairman of the Society, was also pleased to hand over a further cheque for £100 to Maria Gundmann of the Dorset Blind Association. The money was raised at the Society’s annual lunch in November.

The Society for Poole was founded as The Society of Poole Men in 1924 and since then has been saving, supporting and promoting Poole: its history, culture and people. The Society for Poole, open to all with a passion for Poole, has been responsible initially saving Scaplen’s Court, supporting events such as Beating of the Bounds, and raising money for local charities and other organisations throughout Poole.
